Who will be to blame for climate-change disaster?

I don't much like making predictions, largely out of fear that they will come true. But just to put a marker in the sand, here is my prediction for who will ultimately be blamed if we do end in an irreversible climate-change disaster scenario. It will be...

... drum roll ...

The climate scientists!

I can't be sure exactly what reason will be found for pinning the blame on the climate scientists, but you can bet that when calamity hits us, the far right governments across the world (which will be nearly all of them) will find that the scientists were to blame. For the record, I think the reason will be one of the following:

1. Their predictions weren't accurate; the rise in temperature was not exactly what was predicted to the tenth of a degree celsius.
2. Their predictions were too accurate - did they engineer it?
3. They made far too much noise and their general doom-mongering turned people off.
4. They didn't make nearly enough noise and so failed to make people aware of the impending doom.
5. They were not believable because scientists make things up all of the time and who even understands this stuff anyway?
